Privacy policy

Last updated: 11 September 2026.

The short version

The numbers you type into a calculator never leave your browser. We do not have accounts, we do not have a database of visitors, and we do not sell data to anyone. We do use analytics and advertising, both of which set cookies, and you control those through the consent banner.

Calculator inputs

Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. The values you enter — balances, salaries, loan amounts — are processed on your device and are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. They are not logged, not stored, and disappear when you close the tab.

What we do collect

  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are used and how people arrive. This records information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, and referring site. IP addresses are anonymised.
  • Advertising. This site is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may set cookies to measure and, where you consent, personalise the ads you see.
  • Server logs. Our host records standard request logs, including IP address and user agent, for security and abuse prevention. These are retained briefly and not used to build profiles.

Cookies and consent

In the United Kingdom, PECR requires your consent before any non-essential cookie is set, and the ICO treats analytics and advertising cookies as non-essential. You are therefore shown a consent choice before any such cookie is set, through a Consent Management Platform certified under the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. Declining does not restrict access to any part of this site; you will simply see non-personalised advertising. You can change your choice at any time through the link in the footer. Details are in our cookie policy.

Legal basis and your rights

We are established in the United Kingdom, so the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) apply. Our legal bases are your consent (for analytics and advertising cookies, as PECR requires) and our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (for server logs). You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. You may lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, or with your own national supervisory authority if you are in the EEA.

Because we hold no accounts and no identifying records, in most cases we have no personal data about a given visitor to retrieve or delete. Requests concerning data held by Google should be directed to Google, whose privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

If you are in California

The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, gives California residents rights to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing" — a definition broad enough to include the use of advertising cookies for cross-context behavioural advertising.

We hold no accounts and no identifying records, so in practice there is nothing about an individual visitor for us to disclose or delete. To opt out of personalised advertising, use the "Cookie settings" link in the footer, which applies wherever you are, or enable the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser, which we honour. We do not sell personal information for money.

Data transfers

Our analytics and advertising providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States, under the safeguards those providers maintain.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and note the change on this page.
